Haha, I haven't posted anything in a while. I am WAY more active on DA and Mangabullet. I am, like, so addicted to drawing. Speaking of drawing, here's a little sketch I did. It's some fanart I did for Kimiko-nee at Mangabullet, since she likes Miyazaki films. So, yup, from Spirited Away, though I made Haku and Chihiro older.

I knew I wanted to do Spirited Away fanart for her, but I just couldn't come up with another concept that I could paint/color somewhat decently in a relatively short amount of time. I messed up Haku's hand when I was drawing the lineart, gah. And yes, Chihiro is wearing a skirt because I thought she would look weird in shorts the way I drew her.

I should stop using watercolors on my crappy sketchbook paper.

More art to come, when I get around to uploading it. There are a lot of paintings and stuff I have done for class that I haven't even put up on DA or Mangabullet. I shouldn't even be awake now, I should be sleeping. But I can't sleep, so I'm also doing homework right now, haha.

Yeah, school... I LOVE MY ART CLASS AND MY GOVERNMENT TEACHER IS HYSTERICAL. Once my easiest and favorite class, Latin has now become one of my hardest classes and a bit tedious. It's basically a literature class, only you have to translate all this Latin in addition to answering the typical sorts of questions you would find in a lit class. It's been getting better though! The main problem is that most of the declensions and conjugations dropped out of my head over the summer.

On an art note, I'm currently working on my third project of the year. Still brainstorming. I did win 3rd place in one of the contests at Deviantart for a character concept I did. Link here. It's a lot of fun creating characters, though I will often draw a random person and come up with a story after. I have also found that it is really hard for me to draw fanart. This is probably because I still can't draw characters consistently, and I always end up being very influenced by the original mangaka's style. I am trying to develop my own style more.

Painted another picture, this time of the Roman gods Jupiter and Veiovis. I believe most people know who Jupiter is, since he is king of the Roman pantheon, but people are much less informed about Veiovis (aka Vediovis). Veiovis is viewed as an "anti-Jupiter." I think of him more as an entity escaped from Hell who is trying to fight on Heaven's side. He is the protector of the falsely accused, guardian angel of slaves and fighters refusing to surrender, and the lord of marshlands and earthquakes. (Jupiter is the lord of the skies and storms, so this one makes sense as far as the anti-Jupiter idea goes, aka ruler of earth vs. ruler of sky.) The thing that kind of annoys me is that the scanner was not wide enough, so the sides got cut off a little. This was also the first time I have painted a beard, haha.

The character is Kiyoshi, my OC. I painted and drew the ENTIRE thing on July 19 (meaning I only slept an hour) because I was submitting it for a DA contest, and the deadline was the 20th. ^^; I already know I'm crazy.
